We are the people who work hard to support band members of all ages, from Elementary to High School. We do a lot of things for the band members by supporting then with volunteer work. Our motto is "WE ARE HERE FOR THE KIDS." We support the Band Directors in whatever they may need to make Music Education a success. As a member, you will receive monthly notices of meetings, which we would hope that you would take the time to join us and give us your input for ideas of how we can continue to support the Bands and their members. The V.D.B.O. have sponsored events such as Band Camp (snacks, lunch, dinner), Homecoming Pancake Breakfast, helped pay for instructors, and helped host MSBOA District Band Festival. We also do awards and scholarships for the band members at all levels from Elementary to High School, help out at concerts, do fundraisers and chaperone when needed. In the past we have provided financial help to send the Drum Majors to camp, refreshments and care on away band trips, ran car washes, and most importantly chaperone their activities.

Fundraisers that we do include our monthly Market Day, Fruit Sale, Cookie Dough/Pastry Dough, Flower Sale and 50/50 raffle at concerts. Our major fundraiser, the concession stand, is open at all sporting events held in the stadium. This stand is operated by the V.D.B.O. Board and volunteers that are always needed. Due to State Health Guidelines, all volunteers that want to work in the concession stand, must be trained and tested to work there. The whole process takes about an hour.

So remember, our children go the extra mile to join the Music Education Department, and we as parents could go the extra mile with them by helping support all of our children.

To Our Parents...

It is the objective of the music staff in the Van Dyke Public Schools that every student wishing to participate in music in school receives the opportunity to do so. It is our goal to reach out to every student. We pledge to put every ounce of effort into teaching our students. We commit ourselves to setting an example for every student we teach. We do these things with the hope and intention that our students will continue to keep music as a part of every day for the rest of their lives.

ATTENTION ALL BAND PARENTS,

We, the Van Dyke Band Organization Board, are having polo shirts made with our logo on it. As a band parent and hopefully becoming a member of the organization, you have the opportunity to purchase one of these shirts. If you are interested in joining the Van Dyke Band Organization and/or purchasing a shirt, please contact Kathy Saunders. You can also fill out the order form below and send it with payment to school with your band student. NOTE: to get the special pricing, I must have a minimum quantity of 12 to get this deal. By doing this, you will not only show your support as a V.D.B.O. Member, but if you are willing to help out as a chaperone, worker, or whatever purpose you are there helping on any event, the band students will be able to identify you as one that they may go to for assistance.

Also, you may purchase the Red Band Camp T-shirts if you are interested. NOTE: to get the special pricing, I must have a minimum quantity of 25 to get this deal.
