Building Trades

Program Description:
1. This course offers
basic knowledge and practical applications in various
aspects of the construction trades.
2. The student builds an actual
residence from the floor system
to the completed structure.
3. The house structure requires the student
to perform physical labor
in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
4. Students learn framing,
roofing, concrete, finish trim
work, safe use of hand and power tools, and various
methods and techniques
of the trade.
Students will learn how to:

frame floor, walls, and
roof

apply shingles

install doors and windows

install siding

work on basic plumbing,
heating, and electrical work

install insulation

hang and finish drywall

prime and paint

install finish trim
