Dear Van Dyke Residents:

May 6, 2008 represents a proud moment in the history of Van Dyke Public Schools. On that day, residents throughout our community voted to support the 2008 Bond Proposal. On behalf of the students, staff, administration and Board of Education, I would like to personally thank you for your continued support and commitment to our district and the community.

The successful passage of this six-year plan will enable Van Dyke Public Schools to maintain the sense of pride, continue the tradition of excellence for which we are known, and ensure that our staff and students have the tools and resources they need to teach and learn.

In the years ahead, the community can take great pride in knowing that the 2008 Bond program will:

  • Enhance the safety and security of our classrooms, buildings, and sites;

  • Address the needs of our aging facilities and, thereby, provide equitable schools and programs for all students;

  • Maximize the use of our existing facilities to assist in containing expenditures as well as demands on general fund dollars;

  • Provide our school district with a long-term plan that will meet the educational needs of our students well into the future.

I encourage you to visit this website often so that you can stay informed regarding the progress that is gained in delivering the promises made to our community. Our district website will be frequently updated to make certain the community is kept well informed regarding the status of projects cited in the 2008 Bond Proposal.

Thank you again for keeping the pride and securing the future of Van Dyke Public Schools. Through the combined efforts and support of our community, parents and staff, Van Dyke Public Schools will continue the tradition of excellence, maintain its success and provide a wonderful place for children to learn, employees to work and residents to live.

With warm regards,

Kathleen Spaulding
